Class Details

An afternoon of fun and relaxation. In this class you will learn the art of hand-building pots and vessels with pinch, coil and slab methods. You will be working in my brand new studio, open weekdays and Saturdays with some night classes available. This workshop will give the participants a chance to experiment and play with clay. All classes are limited to six students. Glazing days are separate and planned after the first firing. Release your inner sculptor and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of clay making. There is also a wide variety of making and decorating tools. Once you have finished your session, Kate will dry, and fire your chosen finished piece. She will then let you know when it's ready to pick up. In this class you will learn how to prepare your clay for firing. There are 6 places available on each course. They take place in a friendly, relaxed environment. If you have attended a class before, you can build on skills you have already acquired to create something different. Items you could make : Mug, bowl, pot, vase, tile, tea light, plant pot, trinket box, pet bowl, wall plaque, small sculpture ... The list is endless. Whats included : Materials : All clay and firing is included in your session fee. One large piece or 2/3 smaller pieces. (if you would like to fire multiple pieces, there is a charge of £5 per additional piece on the day). Equipment : All equipment that you need is provided and included in the cost. Food/Drink : No food or drink is allowed in the studio due to health and safety reasons. Clothing : please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Aprons are provided. Please note : Person attending must be 13 years or older. These are run : Fridays and Saturdays - 1pm - 3.30pm Thursdays - 6.30pm - 9pm You can book and attend these regularly or just attend once to experience the art of making pottery.
